HASLETT - East Lansing and Haslett both gave CAAC-favorite Okemos a bit of a scare but could not finish the job. Thursday night the Trojans and Vikings squared off in a battle that illustrated who might just be Okemos' biggest threat at a title crown.
East Lansing had its offense rolling in the second half, pulling away from Haslett, 14-8, by the final buzzer.
"I thought we settled on offense, and we took good shots," East Lansing head coach Bronti Belanger said after the fourth quarter finish. "We just played with more patience than we've played the first couple games."
The Trojans only loss this season came at the hands of the Chiefs.
