EAST LANSING - On Sunday April 17th volunteers and runners gathered at Jenison Field House on MSU campus to participate in its largest annual fundraiser for MSU Safe Place, a relationship violence and stalking program.
Volunteers at the program hung up a motif of shirts that expressed the thoughts and experiences of survivors of sexual abuse. Runners at the 5k ranged from very young to old and included some of MSU's varsity athletes.
MSU Safe Place gives a voice to victims of stalking and sexual violence and empowers them. They help to increase awareness of stalking and relationship violence by reaching out to educate their community, outreach efforts, expert witness training, professional training and consultation.
