MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - A new assisted living center may soon be coming to Meridian Township.
The proposed center would take up three separate parcels that, in total, stretch completely across the block between Newton Road and Saginaw Street.
The project is proposed by PVL Investments out of St. Louis, Missouri, which would also construct and manage the center. PVL is one of the highest rated assisted living providers in the country.
"Its not just a place to live, its really a place to thrive," said Dave Baylis, President of PVL Investments.
If constructed, the center will host several types of living arrangements and care levels. It will also feature recreational activities for its residents, such as a private bowling ally. There will also be transportation opportunities provided so that residents can become and/or remain a part of the larger community.
The proposed use of the land is actually a less intensive use than what it is currently zoned for, as it is currently zoned to match the neighboring landscaping business.
