Turnovers was the name of the game.
Whether it was dribbling down the court or a pass gone wrong, both teams handed their opponents many plays that lead to points on the scoreboard.
The halftime score remained close, 27-21, with the Bulldogs still in the lead.
Early in the third quarter, Okemos gained back some energy with a three-pointer by Laya Hartman,
This kept the Chiefs only six points behind at the end of the third, with 29 points while Mason had 35.
Going into the final quarter of the game, Okemos tried to gain time to make plays.
With Mason's attempt to run out the clock, the Chiefs tightened the defense and tried to steal the ball.
Doing so, the Okemos girls accumulated 12 fouls in the second half, handing the Bulldogs points as they made their free throws.
While the Bulldogs made their free throws, the Chiefs still struggled to score, leading Mason to a 50-31 victory.
Mason now heads to district finals, but head coach Jen Walkington said her team has to improve if they want to continue winning.
"We need to work better on our defense and rebounding," Walkington said. "We struggled tonight, and we normally are a good rebounding team, but we didn't do very well so tomorrow at practice that's exactly what we're gonna work on."
