LANSING - Lansing Everett and Okemos ( traded blows all night long, back-and-forth until the final seconds, leaving Lansing on top, 45-44, in a wild finish.
Down, 45-44, with 3.2 seconds left, the Chiefs forced a turnover, giving them one last shot to win it. A clean pass from half-court to the right post looked promising, but a forced shot, turned block, ended in a victory for Everett.
"It was a hard-fought, tough game," Everett head coach Desmond Ferguson said after the win. "It wasn't pretty, but we were able to come away with the victory, came up with a key stop at the end."
"We are going to need games like this to continue and try to get some momentum going into the tournament."
