HASLETT - After a drought, new businesses in Haslett are beginning to flourish. Direct Power Sports is under construction and Hot Yoga is open for business.
The owner of Direct Power Sports is Lenny Thayer. Thayer's core reason for the location of choice was the conveniency for the residents.
"For my business structure, distance is everything this is the perfect location," he said.
The store will have products ranging from jet skis to sports apparel. Thayer plans on completing and opening the store by the first week of March. He said he is excited for the grand opening.
Hot Yoga is currently open to the public. Samantha Marinez was born and raised in Haslett and wanted to bring something she loves to the community.
Hot Yoga offers Yoga and Barre classes in heated rooms.
"It just feels great. It allows your body to stretch easily, you're just more loose and limber. Once you do it once, you're addicted," Marinez said.
Marinez agreed that there are not many businesses in Haslett, but she hopes that Hot Yoga will attract more businesses similar to hers.
