UPDATE: OKEMOS - Downtown Okemos has begun decorating for the winter and upcoming holiday season

The Township received a grant to install LED street lights in the Downtown Okemos area, and with these lights decorative snowflakes which were installed last winter.

These LED street lights are most cost-effective, use considerably less energy and also turn on and off with the rise and fall of the sun.

However, the cost-effectiveness of the lights is not the only reason why the Township places the snowflake decorations up during the winter...
