LANSING - The Delta Township Fire Department visited Lansing Community College's West Campus to give a fire demonstration.
One of the three models built by the ARCH students in the LCC construction lab was set up for a training simulation.
Many firefighters and ARCH students gathered around for the stimulation to see how fires are put out.
Kevin Stine, an architecture student said it took them about three 6-hour class periods to build the models. He also noted that the demonstration was very educational.
"First building the models was interesting, learning how to follow the plan and then getting everything going. Also learning how fire was going to be spread through our models was pretty interesting as well."
Many other students at the event were excited as well as the Michele Filipiak, lead faculty in the architecture and technology program.
She describes the box as a "doll house" and thought it was a great way to start off the year for her students.
