LANSING - The Okemos girls took it to winless Lansing Eastern Friday night, as Chiefs freshman Laya Hartman continued her dominant, debut season with a 20-point performance.
"She's got a lot of composure on the floor, and she really showed that tonight," Okemos head coach Tyler Hursey said after the game. "I was really proud of how she knocked down free throws and how she got her teammates involved."
The Lady Chiefs continue to show last year is way behind them. In 2015, Okemos finished 2-14 for the season, but this year, the girls have already doubled that win total at 5-8.
Hursey's girls go to Grand Ledge to take on the Comets (6-6) this Friday night for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
