MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - There was a special appreciation event for the Board and Commission members of the Meridian Township on Jan. 28.
The event took place at the new Central Fire Station located on Central Park Drive and Okemos Road. The Board and Commission members and staff had chance to look over and enjoy time at new Fire Station before its actual ribbon cutting event on Feb. 1.
Meridian Township Manager, Frank Walsh thanked all the Board & Commission members as well as the Fire Department who put their effort into building the new Fire Station, and their hard work for making Meridian Township a better place.
"We do appreciate what you do for the community, and we are happy to enjoy this evening with us," said Walsh.
There was also a surprise Recognition Award Ceremony for the Commissioners who worked very diligently for the Township. Patricia Jackson, Planning Commissioner and Brian Beauchine, Chair of Zoning Board of Appeals received the Recognition Awards.
This is the first year Meridian Township has given Recognition Awards to Township Board and Commission members, and they look forward to have this event annually.
