EAST LANSING - Chaz Richardson and the Chiefs traveled to East Lansing to give their best shot against elite prospect Brandon Johns and the undefeated Trojans Friday night, but like the rest before them, Okemos failed to do damage. The sophomore Johns, with 20 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks, led the way to a, 71-50, slow burn victory for East Lansing.
"Every day in practice we compete," East Lansing head coach Doug Fleming said. "I walk into practice like we are not 10-0, like we are 0-10."
That type of mentality drives a team, while undefeated, is still very young.
"I get mad evey day. I hold them to a high standard. I don't get complacent. They call me Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. We run our stuff every day, we compete, and the guys have tremendous character."
East Lansing goes for win number 11, in Saint Johns Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
