OKEMOS - Early on this season, Okemos Hockey was having trouble duplicating last year's historic dominance. With a, 2-3, record coming into Friday night's matchup with Jackson, the Chiefs may have turned their season upside down with a convincing, 4-2, victory.
Tied, 1-1, Okemos forward Jake Desautel accepted a turnover and sped his way up near full-length of the ice to score on a near 90 degree angle for his second goal of the night.
One Desautel hat trick later and Okemos is up, 3-2, and it is Chief Anders Stakey who seals Jackson's fate. The senior with agility to burn the ice into a pool rebounds his own backhand right into the net.
The, 4-2, win put Okemos back at .500 with faceoff against Holt a day later. The Chiefs buried the Rams in a, 3-0, shutout to put them back on the fast track to a successful year.
