LANSING - On Thursday, November 19th, The Ingham County Health Department (ICHD) and the 1st Housing joined the American Cancer Society in the Great American Smokeout.
The primary focus of the event was to heighten awareness around quitting smoking.
It was also an opportunity to provide smokers with available resources to help and assist them with quitting smoking.
Linda Vail, Ingham County Health Officer states, "quitting tobacco is the best thing you can do for your health and the Great American Smokeout is a chance to remind smokers that there are resources available to support their efforts to quit."
The event was held at Capital Commons, 500 Pine Street, Lansing, Michigan because it is a Housing and Urban Development (HUD) facility that has already chosen to go smoke free voluntarily.
