MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Green and white was in the air, as the Great Divide took place on October 16th.
This annual event is held on the Friday before the big football showdown of Spartans vs. the Wolverines.
The friendly competition is between Meridian Township and Ann Arbor firefighters at their local Home Depot to see who could cut a car in half the fastest.
Meridian Township residents braved the rain and the cold weather to support and cheer on their local firefighters.
It made all the difference as Meridian Township Fire Department Captain Derek Burcham made it clear.
"Ah we won, I think it was a minute and 24 seconds," said Burcham.
The Meridian Township Fire Department has remained undefeated once again.
The Ann Arbor Fire Department finished in 3 minutes and 12 seconds which was no where close to the winner.
This contest marks the 10th year between the two Fire Departments.
