OKEMOS - On Friday October 16th, veteran coach Jack Wallace picked up his 200th win. The Chief's 37 to 6 road victory over Eastern was the first win for Okemos football this season, so the 200 milestone was put aside.
"The win on Friday was all about the team, all about the guys," said Wallace, " I didn't even think about the win being my 200th until long after our team win."
His coaching career has last over 32 years, he's coached in Fowlerville, East Lansing for a year, and now Okemos. When he was asked about the secret to being a successful as a football coach he said it all comes down to having support from one person.
"My wife," said Wallace, "I'm doing this job 24 hours a day and 7 days a week and without my wife's support and her understanding I wouldn't be here."
Wallace is beyond appreciative for all the support he's received leading up to this win and he said that he hopes to see 250, 300, and more over the upcoming years.
