OKEMOS - The Mini Maker hosted a community event, Mini Maker Madness on Saturday, October 10th at the Meridian Mall. At the event, 3D Printing, Robotics, Making, and Tinkering were introduced to the kids and their families from the Greater Lansing community.

The Mini Maker is a kid focused makerspace located in the Meridian Mall. It offers classes, workshops, and camps on 3D Printing, Robotics, Tinkering, Making and Building.

Melissa Allen, the founder of The Mini Maker, was inspired to create a makerspace for kids after realizing it's application everyday life. Since Science, Technology, Math, and Engineering (STEM) careers, manufacturing, and making is becoming more prevalent in today's culture, Allen wants encourage kids and introducing this area in a fun and interactive way.

"We want to encourage them that they have little ideas, and these little ideas can become something big. They don't have to wait until they are older, and all of the people here believe that the kids have this amazing ingenuity, and so they are all willing to let it shine," said Allen.

The kids enjoyed the event participating to some creative activities and games. Haslett Robotics Club also participated this event, presenting their amazing robotics to the crowd.
