MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Nokomis Learning Center has reopened and is dedicated to presenting and preserving the culture of or lands native citizens. The center focus on the art, culture and history of the Anishinaabe people – the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi nations.
The center fulfills this mission through programs, exhibitions and special events aimed at teaching community members and beyond about the ways of our countries native ancestors.
Located at 5153 Marsh Road, the Nokomis Learning Center offers several programs for all age groups ranging from language lessons to Native Flute, Drum and Dance. On average the center provides 275 tour programs a year to groups ranging in size from 15 to 120 people and larger for site visits.
