HASLETT - Haslett High School is putting in time, and more than three million dollars, into updating and expanding it's Performing Arts Center.
The improvements to the center include all new seating, and dressing rooms.
Prior to the addition being made, drama students changed in the regular student bathroom down the hall.
The expansion also includes a proper set-building room. Before, students built the set in a small garage, mostly outdoor.
"This upcoming summer we're working on the overstage," said Haslett High School auditorium technician, Pat Hepfer. "We're working with updating the lighting system, updating our sound system, updating and adding some mechanical fly systems, all new drapes, the surface of the stage is going to be resurfaced, it's going to be tremendous."
The last phase of the renovation will be the lobby.
Right now, a dark, dim hallway is soon to be opened up, with the addition of glass windows, and possibly monitors to display past shows and awards.
