EAST LANSING - This past weekend, Saturday night football took place in East Lansing against a team that is barely an hour away. The Central Michigan Chippewas came to Spartan Stadium to face the #2 ranked Michigan State football team.
MSU was favored by more than 15 points against CMU and the final score, 30-10, beat the stats but not very easily.
"I will agree, we haven't been playing the best football, it gets old when we win a game and fans or media are upset just because we didn't win by a lot, a wins a win, we are 4 and 0 and this is something we should be celebrating," said MSU head coach Mark Dantonio.
Big plays by Madre London, Shilique Calhoun, Connor Cook, and most recent stand-out Gerald Holmes. There were two blocked kicks by the Spartan defense, credit to Shilique Calhoun for one of them and 2 Cooper Rush sacks. Madre London's 6 yard run lead to a very important kick by Michael Gieger.
Gerald Holmes scored two touchdowns. The red-shirt sophomore played in 3 games last season, but he is now stepping out as a potential starting tailback,
