Grand Ledge Levels Okemos, 43-7, Stays
Undefeated

GRAND LEDGE - Okemos (0-4) could do little all night against undefeated Grand Ledge (4-0) and gave up a whopping 35 points in the first half. After winning, 43-7, the Comets offense is now averaging 37.5 points per game through the first four weeks of the season.

Grand Ledge came in to the game high off its, 34-32, nail-biting win over CAAC Blue rival Lansing Sexton. Playing an 0-3 team at home, Grand Ledge head coach Matt Bird made sure his boys would not let up.

"You're going against a Jack Wallace coached team so you know they are going to be very well-schooled," Grand Ledge head coach Matt Bird said. "Our thing was we've got to try to continue to come together and get better, and that's what the main focus was this week."

Tonight's game stayed special for another reason. 2015 marks the sixth year of Grand Ledge's "Fallen Heroes" project. Each Comet changed the last name on the back of his jersey to represent that of a fallen soldier's. At the end of the game, all of the Grand Ledge players were individually introduced with their backs to the crowd so each name could be honored.

The Comets stay at home this Friday to take on Jackson (3-1) at 7 p.m. Jackson, too, is coming off a fresh victory against Sexton, 35-34, just a few hours ago.

Speaking of Sexton, Okemos takes on the Big Reds in a battle of winless teams Friday night. While Sexton is yet to get a W, the Division IV state runner-ups, have lost their previous two games by a total of only three points.
