MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Central Park is a diverse area offering residents recreation opportunities.
At the September 8th Meridian Township Park Commission meeting they were presented with ways to improve this heavily trafficked area to better utilize the space at Central Park.
"Most residents don't know where it is, but that is the reason we want to make it become something special," said LuAnn Maisner, Meridian Township's Director of Parks and Recreation.
The Parks and Recreation Department and Park Commission have been collaborating to update the Central Park Master Plan, which was presented at the meeting.
"Many organizations volunteered to help us to commit this plan, I can't imagine how to work without their talented contribution," said Maisner.
New signage, lights, and promenade are just a few updates that are in the works for Central Park to help identify the area.
"This is a long period work, we are going to divide it into pieces," said Maisner. "It will take couple of years to get this plan done, but finally we will make it a good one."
