HASLETT - On July 29, at approximately 12:19 a.m. officers were dispatched to the Lakewood Apartments located in Haslett. Neighbors called police to report noises, like arguing and windows breaking. Meridian Officers were assisted by the Ingham County Sheriff's Office and once they arrived to the 5700 block of Ridgeway Drive, the officers received no response from the occupants fighting inside the apartment.
Shortly after, a male, 45 year-old resident of Lansing, and a female, 42 year-old resident of Haslett, exited the apartment in compliance with the officers. An investigation of the area revealed the male fired two shots from a handgun. Shots were fired inside the apartment home. This caused damage to the apartment itself and to two parked cars nearby.
The identity of the male, who is in custody at the Ingham County Jail, is Lansing resident John Wayne Davis.The Ingham County Prosecutor issued warrants from the least serve to the most serve, including four felonies. Davis' preliminary exam will take place on August 6.
"It is an isolated incident, with a peaceful outcome. No injuries and Davis was arraigned the morning after," said Lieutenant Greg Frenger of Meridian Township.
