MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township's Community Resources Commission invites residents to come out on July 25th to the Meridian Sun Golf Club for the 17th Annual GolfFest.

GolfFest is a charity event that raises money for the Township's CRC Emergency Needs Fund. The fund is used to help Meridian Township residents with emergency needs such as evictions, utility shutoffs, and prescriptions.

Just last year, 64 households in the Township received emergency assistance. At the event, approximately 100 prizes will be raffled off. Raffle tickets cost $5 and are sold at the Township Municipal Building until July 24th.

The event is all about raising money within the community, for the community. Darla Jackson, Meridian's Human Service Specialist said, "it is truly amazing how this event brings all of the community together, from local businesses to sponsors, many people come out to support."
