MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Tea Chat, a Taiwanese oriented tea company officially opened for business this week, bringing new options for something to drink. The company makes over 50 specialty drinks ranging from milk teas, ice teas, smoothies and coffees mixes, giving customers a variety of drinks to choose from.
Flavors range from matcha milk, grass jelly milk, lemon black tea, and yogurt green tea.
Tea Chat employee Jesse Lupinski said because of the increase in international students at Michigan State University, the demand for this kind of business is high.
"East Lansing has been going this transformation over a long period of bringing a lot of foreign students in to come to the school and this kind of caters to that market, there's a demand for that," Lupinski said.
Tea chat is located in the Meridian Mall food court and is open during regular mall hours.
