OKEMOS - The Doggy Daycare and Spa, located in Okemos officially opened their doors this week, welcoming a place for dogs spend their days while their pet parents are at work or out of town.
Not only does the daycare offer a place for the dogs to interact with others in a cage-less environment, dogs can also get spa treatment such as haircuts, nail trims, and baths.
Janice Milligan, owner of the daycare says the purpose of Doggy Daycare and Spa is to provide a safe, fun, stimulating environment with an emphasis on interaction and socialization with other friendly dogs.
"Something like this allows people to become better pet parents," Milliagan said. "We're all busy everyday, we have kids, kids have extra circular activities we want to go out of town and we don't want to feel guilty about locking them up in a cage — this gives everyone a place where they can bring their dog and feel good about it."
Because it is a cage-less environment, any pet parents interested in enrolling their dog in this facility will have to go through an extensive application to make sure the dog fits in and gets along with others.
