Meridian Fire Receives Their Brand New Ambulance

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Although the Meridian Township Fire Department is still patiently waiting for the arrival of the new Central Fire Station, that didn't stop them from purchasing some new wheels.

Meridian Fire has received their new ambulance. This ambulance is the third one they've purchased from Braun Ambulances.

EMS Chief Bill Priese said that both the medics and patients seems to enjoy the ride in these custom Braun Ambulances, so they're happy to have three of them on the front line.

EMS Chief Priese also said, "You know they're built to provide a safe environment for the medics as well as the patient that we carry, but also we want them to have a comfortable ride to the hospital and we believe that these ambulances really deliver that to the citizens and residents of the township."

This ambulance will replace one of the older ambulances on the front line, but what will happen to the older ambulance is still to be determined. It could be retried or go into reserve, Chief Priese said no decision has been are yet.

Meridian Fire has also received some new equipment thanks to a grant that was written as a part of the Shared Fire Services Group.

A new heart monitor and new automatic CPR machine will aid the fire department in saving lives. So far they've received the automatic CPR machine, but they're still awaiting the arrival of the heart monitor.
