EAST LANSING - It took 416 days, but Lansing United finally dell against their home crowd. The Michigan Stars scored on a breakaway in the 64th minute to drop United for the first time since the beginning of the 2014 season.
Despite the loss, Lansing looked strong throughout most of the first half. They tallied 17 total shots in the match, with six on goal. Michigan Stars only mustered on shot on target, but Alex Adelabu's tap-in was the only one they needed.
United's two big changes came in the end of each respective halves. In the 30th minute, Zach Pagani controlled a cross into the box and fired a shot directly at the right post. In the three minutes of extra time, Lansing managed three corner kicks, but couldn't capitalize on the chances.
The game was scrappy as well, with players from both United and the Stars receiving three yellow cards each. Lansing United loss at home marks their first since Ann Arbor FC in 2014. The loss also marks the last time United dropped two straight in their regular season schedule since the very same Ann Arbor match.
United looks to break the streak when they travel to Buffalo in July 10.
