LANSING - After nearly eight innings, Cooley Law Stadium threw in the towel against the rain that resulted in a 5-3 victory over the Bowling Green Hot Rods. There was no damper on the fact that the Nuts still maintain their one-game lead in their league standings.
The Lugnuts had a hot start scoring a run in the first inning but would end up trailing 3-1 until the they took a 5-3 lead with a four-run sixth inning.
Jason Leblebijian tied the game with a two-run single and Tim Locastro's two-out double gave Lansing the lead which they would not relinquish.
In the eighth inning Mike Reeves made a tag at home to preserve the two-run lead before the game went to rain delay. The game was delayed for one-hour, 38-minute delay before it was was called.
