LANSING - With Lansing United in first place they know that they will get every teams' best. This game was no different. While they dominated possession and shots on goal, United couldn't get over the one goal hump to win their game against the Fort Pitt Regiment.
United went down in the first half 1-0 after the wet grass caused Netminder Wes Mink to lose dominant position on header from a cross by Regiment Defender Andrew Scheidmantel.
Lansing has been a second half team all season and this match was another indicator of such. In the 46th minute of regulation, Forward Cholo Petit used a little finesse to score on a cross from United Defender Austin Dunn.
The Boys in Blue outshot the regiment 24-5 and Regiment Netminder Brenden Alfery had 7 saves in his dominant showing. United will now head on the road after a few days off for three games before returning to their home pitch on June 21st to take on the Minnesota United Reserves.
