OKEMOS - Two more Okemos Athleties signed on the dotted line this week.

Tennis teammates Catherine Wingrove and Maya Srkalovic made their commitments to rival Division 3 Michigan schools official on May 5.

Wingrove will be continuing her career at Hope College and Srkalovic will be going on to play at Kalamazoo College.

Both Wingrove and Srkalovic have been playing tennis for ten-plus years and train year-round with private instructors.

They both said they were grateful for the opportunity to extend their tennis careers and excited for the challenges to come.

"Its pretty cool to say you're playing past what most people do, I think," said Wingrove.

"At the collegiate level, a lot of things, the competition gets harder, the work ethic gets harder, so I definitely think I'll have to be mentally strong and physically strong to compete," said Srkalovic.

Srkalovic was unable to play tennis for nine months and sat out the majority of the season after suffering a knee injury. She said she was still encouraged to contact Kalamazoo College. Although she signed her letter of intent in May, she knew she was going to be a member of Kalamazoo's tennis team when she made her college decision this winter.

Wingrove was actively being pursued by Hope and said she chose the school because of its sense of community and family.

Okemos Athletic Director Ira Childress said Wingrove and Srkalovic's commitments to their respective schools makes approximately thirty Chiefs who have signed collegiate letters of intent during the 2014-15 school year
