OKEMOS - Two Okemos High School athletes signed college letters of intent on April 30th.
Golfer Sydney Williams will be continuing her career at Loyola University New Orleans.
Sam Horton will be playing lacrosse for the University of Detroit Mercy. Horton was also a standout for the Chiefs in football and wrestling.
Athletic Director Ira Childress said he is especially proud of Williams and Horton because their dedication and work ethic on the field and the course translates tot he classroom.
Williams and Horton are eager for the chance to pursue their sport of choice at the collegiate level.
"I'm excited for the challenge of playing college lacrosse and the experience to play in college," said Horton.
"I'm excited to see all the different kinds of competition and all the different other players I can play against, and just see how different college golf is from high school," said Williams.
