UPDATE:
EAST LANSING - The East Lansing Trojans earned a share of the CAAC Blue Championship Friday with a win over the Okemos Chieftans. After going down 14-0, Okemos got on the board shortly before halftime as Jonny Bolas connected with Jared Motley for a 61-yard touchdown. Trailing 20-13 late in the fourth, the Chieftans recovered a fumble in Trojan territory and ran in a touchdown to put me within one, but a missed extra point left the score at 20-19, where it would stay until time ran out.
"They seized the momentum after the fumble, but then we recovered the onside kick," East Lansing Head Coach Bill Feraco said following the game. "We had to get a couple first downs, we ran our coming out plays, and we did what we needed to do there. We executed."
Elijah Hamilton- Wray rushed for 124 yards on 17 carries, and JR Lara had 79 yards on 14 carries for the Trojans, who will open up the playoffs next week against St. Johns. Bolas completed 4-8 for 100 yards and rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns for the Chieftans, who will open the postseason next week against Bay City Western.
