MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Many development projects are underway in Meridian Township.
Jimmy John's was recently approved for their Special Use Permit. Now their next steps are to revise their site plans based on the boards approval. Jimmy John's has quite a few steps to go before they can begin construction on the business, but if everything runs smoothly and is submitted, they could be under construction sometime later this year.
Whole Foods is also moving forward with their project. Now with two approved additions, the store will be around 42,000 square feet. So far they have been approved for the exterior of the building. Their interior plans still need t be submitted.
Whole Foods is on track and hope to be open by the end of this year. If not, then they are aiming to be ready by early 2016.
Whole Foods has been in the works for quite some time now, and many are anticipating it's arrival. Director of Community Planning & Development, Mark Kieselbach said, "They must have you know underestimated the market the first time and now realize that they're going to have hopefully a very popular store here and that. So I'd like to get that one done I think more people are edited about that one coming to the area,"
Two developments that will be completed sometime late fall; Gordmans which will be located in Meridian Mall and the Marriott which will be located on Hannah Blvd.
