Lansing Residents Kick Butts

LANSING - National Kick Butts Day is an event held around the country which aims to encourage current users of tobacco products to kick the habit.

At the Justice in Mental Health Organization (JIMHO) in Lansing, participants were given Carbon Dioxide tests that showed them real results about how tobacco can affect the way we breathe. Amy Ann Moore, Prevention Coordinator for the Ingham County Health Department facilitated the event, and shared the dangers of smoking.

"There's a lot of systems to get through to still be successful at quitting smoking. It's not as easy as people think 'Oh, pick a day and quit.' That's unrealistic these days. Cigarettes are so addictive and people have been smoking a really long time," says Moore.

Kick Butts Day was a great success at JIMHO of Lansing this year.
