OKEMOS - The Okemos Athletic Boosters held a fundraiser to help raise money for the Okemos athletic programs.

The fundraiser took place at the Okemos Conference Center, and featured food, a beer and wine tasting, and silent auctions.

"It's called a "Toast to the Chiefs", we have a wine and beer tasting, sponsored by Dusty's Cellar, Matt and Karen Rhodes, and we've got some local distributers who are helping us out," said event chair Debbie Mashburn.

The fundraiser is an annual event, with this year being the first to include the beer and wine tasting.

Along with ticket sales and the silent auction, numerous corporate sponsors donated their products and money, and the venue was given to the boosters free of charge. The money raised from the event will help purchases uniforms for the Okemos athletic programs.
