MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Assistant Township Manager/Director of Public Works position that was open in Meridian Township has been filled.

Derek Perry, who currently works as the Director of Public Works and Services for the city of Saint Joseph, will begin his role in Meridian Township on March 16.

Perry said, "I'm very excited and honored to be selected as the next Assistant Township Manager here and I just can't wait to get started."

Perry has spent 17 years working in several communities and governmental organizations.
