UPDATE: OKEMOS - DNA testing by the Michigan State Police Crime Laboratory confirms that the infant boy found in Roseville is not related to missing infant in Meridian Township according to press release.

Meridian Police continue to investigate the missing infant and the death of the infant found at a recycling center.

ORIGINAL STORY: OKEMOS - The Meridian Township Police Department continues to work with Roseville Police after a newborn's body was found at a recycling center late Wednesday night.

Police say that there could be a connection between the deceased baby and an Okemos woman who was accused of killing her newborn daughter December of 2013.

25-year-old Melissa Mitin gave birth to a baby boy roughly 4 weeks ago while she was out on bail and awaiting trial for the homicide of her first born.

Melissa Mitin will be held in contempt of court until she releases the location of the child.

"We are actively investigating any leads we get and we are trying to locate this child," said Meridian Township Police Lieutenant Greg Frenger.

Police have not yet confirmed the identity of the child, but will be conducting an autopsy soon.

"Anyone who is familiar with Melissa Mitin or familiar with her having a child or any information on who may have this child if it's not the deceased one please notify us as soon as possible," said Frenger
