MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Santa Clause not only will be making his list and checking it twice, but he will be making two stops in Meridian Township this weekend.
The first will be at the "Drive-Thru Santa" event that will be held on Saturday, December 13th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Meridian Township Service center, located at 2100 Gaylord C. Smith Court. The event allows families and pets to visit Santa and have a photo taken with him, without having to step out of their car. The cost is $5.00 plus a canned good that will be donated to local food banks.
The second opportunity is at the Christmas in the Village event on Sunday, December 14th from 2:00-5:00 p.m. In addition to visiting Santa, families will be able to tour the Meridian Historical Village, hear volunteers share Christmas traditions from the time period they are in, as well as make crafts and enjoy refreshments. The community tree lighting ceremony will take place that same day at 4:00.
"It's a beautiful part of our local history and we gotta thank the friends of historic Meridian and Meridian Township for allowing our community to have this beautiful village," Brad Brogren, a Meridian Township Volunteer said.
