INGHAM COUNTY - The Ingham County Democratic Party held its monthly meeting, which was the party's first since the November 4th election. Although the results did’t turn out quite in their favor at the election, the Democrats are excited to move forward towards a better 2016.

Several members of the Democratic Party spoke to the group, offering words of encouragement and promise. These speakers included senator-elect Curtis Hertel Jr., representatives Tom Cochran and Andy Schor and Ingham County Treasurer Eric Schertzing.

"The energy that we put into this campaign will be nothing compared to the energy that I will give you over the next four years," Hertel said. "I hope you'll imagine with me, I hope you'll work with me, and let's work together to take the state back because we have a responsibility to do it."

Part of the meeting was also dedicated to electing new member officials for each ward in Ingham County.
