MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The November 4th General Election is quickly approaching and nearly 30,000 voters are registered in Meridian Township.
Within those registered, many are deciding to vote absentee as it becomes a growing trend. Numbers hit just under 3,000 absentee voters during the Primary Election back in August.
However, early submission of absentee ballots could leave voters questioning their decision.
"Sometimes voters don't get all the information that's coming in the next thirty days," said Brett Dreyfus, Meridian Township Clerk. "The last thirty days of an election, candidates will often respond to attacks that are coming out. If a person's already voted, obviously they don't get access to that information."
As of October 13th, Meridian Township has issued more than 3,000 absentee ballots, and have already received 810 back.
