LANSING - For more than a year, the Greater Lansing Housing coalition has been working on a five-year fair and affordable housing plan, and Tuesday during a press conference the details were revealed as ICE.

The plan termed “ICE”, stands for innovative, collaborative and empowering solutions and is meant to help provide adequate housing for seniors and low income residents as well as provide the tools for community leaders to serve marginalized populations, improve the neighborhood safety while increasing sustainability in Ingham, Clinton and Eaton counties.

"We know in all communities, there is a need to address continued issues with low income families specifically who can't afford some of the higher rents and so they're forced into what we call substandard living conditions," said executive director Katherine Draper.

ICE also provides the Mid-Michigan community tools to encourage growth of the current business in the area as well as attract new business.
