MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The new fire station in Meridian Township is one step closer to breaking ground after the Township Board unanimously chose a construction manager.
The Lansing based construction company, Wieland-Davco was awarded nearly $300,000 for professional construction management services for construction of the new fire station.
"I hope that you some comfort with hiring a local firm that we have great experience right here in your township and also throughout mid Michigan and local municipalities," said Kevin Shaw, Wieland-Davco vice president.
The Township expects to break ground March of 2015 and plans for the new station to be up and running by December 2015.
