LANSING CHARTER TOWNSHIP - The count down was over for the eagerly anticipated Apple retail store as they officially opened their doors in Eastwood Town Centre this past Saturday.
The grand opening drew in more than 1000 people throughout the day including over 200 who waited outside the store for the 10 a.m open.
The 6,000 square foot store, which Apple invested $4 million into, is the sixth in Michigan with the other stores located in Ann Arbor, Clinton Township, Grand Rapids, Novi and Troy.
Residents were very happy to wait to get their chance to go in the store.
"Oh I'm super excited that they're finally here in this area," said local resident Linda Gooley. "We've been running to Grand Rapids , and running to Brighton and it's just far. So now we have all of our Apple products that we can bring here to Lansing."
The store offers more than just retail as they also provide a "Genius Bar" tech support staff who can help with repairs and answer questions.
The store is located on the north end of the outdoor mall in-between Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Works.
