MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On Sunday, June 22, Meridian Township's Annual Arts and Crafts Marketplace took place at the Farmers' Market Pavilion. Buyers flocked to purchase unique items or just strike up some friendly conversation with the local artisans.
The event occurs every fourth Sunday of the month, from June through September. The twenty featured artisan booths at the event sell a variety of unique home made crafts.
Hand made jewelry at the market ranged from Peruvian beads, monster felt dolls, glass wall-flower sculptures, and hand-knit wool dollies to name just a few. Items bought from the event helps support Michigan's local economy.
Robin Faust, Market Manager, says the event is a unique opportunity for local artisans to show off their creations.
"We've got metalworking there, we've got some crafting, we've got a lady that does beautiful things with painted gourds. We have some hand sewn items, like if you wanted a nice little baby blanket or a baby dress. Everything and anything is there. Something for everybody", says Faust.
