MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - With Independence Day quickly approaching, Meridian Township's own fireworks display is scheduled to launch July 4th at 10:00 p.m. from Central Park South.

The fireworks permit for the event was approved at the June 17 Township Board meeting. Approximately 15,000 people attend each year, making this one of the largest events hosted by the Township, therefore requiring a permit.

Relying on community partners to help cover the costs, Culver's of Okemos is donating 5% of their sales on June 23 and June 30 to this year's celebration.
