MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Board unanimously vote during their June 17 meeting for a plan that will properly maintain sewers within the township.
The State Revolving Fund Sanitary Sewer Project Plan will work to protect the environment and help save money for the township in the future.
Meridian Township Clerk Brett Dreyfus further explained the benefits of the plan.
"It's an area where we actually concentrate all of the public water and sewer, and then we are able to concentrate development in that area. The reason to do that is it saves tax payers money by far in the short run and the long run. It is very expensive now to put in water and sewer," said Dreyfus.
Private home owner properties will not be effected, and work will be kept primarily to street sewers.
