MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - There was a hearing held on Wednesday, June 4 at the Ingham County Circuit Court regarding the next steps to be taken for the new fire station in Meridian Township.

Judge Joyce Draganchuk ruled that the depositions will move forward. The Open Meetings Act violation and the discrepancies with the fire station will be handled as two separate cases.

The depositions will not take place next week, however will be scheduled for a later time.

The Open Meetings Act violation will be adjudicated on July 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingham County Circuit Court to discuss the matters that were said to be violated.

Fire Chief Fred Cowper says the ground breaking of the new fire station is set to take place on July 22, 2014.
