Meridian Township Begins Curbside
Brush
Pick-Up Today

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The curbside brush and limb pick-up program throughout Meridian Township will begin north of Grand River Avenue starting today, April 14th.

Pick-up south of Grand River Avenue will start after May 5th.

Meridian Township officials are offering this program due to the large amount of fallen brush and limbs as a result from the December ice storm.

"We will only go through the township once, so if we go through your street on the 15th of April, we will not come back. Residents also need to know that brush and limbs should be cut into 6 feet lengths and can't be more than 8 inches in diameter," said Raymond Severy, Meridian Township Director of Public Works & Engineering.

Residents must place their brush and limbs between the sidewalk and road or at the end of the edge of the property line if there is no sidewalk.

The Township has invested more than $50,000 in this program which is expected to run through the end of May.

Additional Resources
The Township contracted two companies, Michigan Demolition and Redwood Landscaping, to pick up brush and limbs. Prior to the start of the program, contractors started picking up brush in some areas with a large amount of brush and limbs already at the street.
