MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY - High flying trapeze and mythical creatures will take over the Breslin Center as Cirque Du Soleil's Varekai comes to Michigan State University.
Varekai will bring together 50 performers from 18 different nationalities for 4 days of acrobatic feats and musical wonder. The premise of the show is an alternative take on the fate of the Greek mythological figure Icarus after he fell from sky by flying to close to the sun. Throughout the performance, Icarus will encounter various creatures and obstacles on his journey towards rebirth.
Varekai Publicist Vanessa Napoli stated "...just like every Cirque Du Soleil show you don't need to understand (the story) to appreciate for what it is which is the beautiful acrobatics, the theatrical element, the live music onstage, and the out-of-this-world costumes."
Cirque Du Soleil's Varekai will be at Michigan State University's Breslin Center from April 2nd through April 6th.
