MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Planning Commission discussed about the Special Use Permit request from the First Housing Corporation at their March 24th meeting.
The First Housing Corporation requested to construct additions to buildings at Grange Acres and bring he project into compliance with sup from a four of buildings greater than 25,000 square feet in area.
"Affordable housing for seniors I think is a great idea. I was sort of trying to find any potential problems but I can't. It seems pretty solid, " said James Salehi, Planning Commissioner.
The First Housing Corporation plans to construct an approximate 90 square foot addition onto the front of 28 studio apartments to convert them one-bedroom units.
This request will continue to be discussed at the next Zoning Board of Appeals meeting on April 9th.
